libcap2 software package provides support for getting/setting POSIX.1e capabilities, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcap2
libcap2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcap2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcap2 *
You will get with libcap2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
